You can get preview information for bit.ly links showing the page title, click stats, the source long link, and a link to the bit.ly Info+ page.

You can also authorize TweetDeck to use your bit.ly credentials so you get personalized link data. In the application, go to Settings/Services and under “bitly” select “Get Your API Key”. You must have a bit.ly account and be signed in for this to work well.

Qwitter

Qwitter is an accessible Twitter client designed for access by the blind, providing an innovative integration between Twitter and a user’s screen reader. To integrate your bit.ly account with the application:

  1. Open the Qwitter Configuration File (either by running %appdata%\qwitter\qwitter.conf, or from your working directory if running portably).
  2. Find the line that reads “URLShorten”. Beneath are two statements for the “BitLyLogin” and “BitLyAPIKey”. These come with Qwitter’s values by default but can be changed at a user’s discretion.
